Friends of Forest Hills Playground wrapped up their first summer concert series on Friday, August 28th with a performance by the Takoma Park-based blues-rock band, Downwire.
Armand’s Chicago Pizzeria donated 25% of its pizza sales to Friends of Forest Hills Playground.
A large crowd enjoyed the music, the food and the perfect weather.
The previous “Final Fridays” concerts in June and July featured Marsha Goodman-Wood and Big Hillbilly Bluegrass, and they were also hits with the multi-generational crowd. And yes, the group is already planning to do this again next summer!
The playground’s next event is the annual Halloween party, to be held Sunday, October 25th from 10 a.m. to noon.
