ANC 3F July 17 agenda: Broad Branch Stream grant; UDC campus plan modifications

July 11, 2018

At some point, the daylighted Broad Branch Stream may be far enough along in its recovery that nature can do the job on its own. But long-buried streams need care and attention after they’re brought back to life.

Interns for Rock Creek Conservancy spent Summer 2017 watering new plants and trees, keeping an eye for invaders, and checking up on the stream’s tiniest residents. In April, ANC 3F approved a grant request of $1,500 for this summer’s intern stipend. An update on the grant is on the agenda of ANC 3F’s July 17th meeting.

Also on the agenda: UDC’s proposals to modify its campus plan. UDC says some of the 28 conditions specified in its current zoning agreement “have proved legally and/or practically infeasible to implement,” such as a command to require “all students, faculty and staff to park in University or other commercial parking facilities on or near the Van Ness Campus.” UDC instead seeks to “encourage” parking in university and commercial garages.

ANC 3F will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the University of the District of Columbia, Building 44, Room A03 (map). Note that the ANC no longer livestreams the meetings. However, they are recorded and uploaded to YouTube a few days after the meeting. You’ll find the videos here, archived in the “livestream” section.

Here’s the rest of the agenda:
