Metro is returning to ANC 3F to give our commissioners and our community an update on where it’s three-year escalator replacement project at Van Ness now stands. Work was to begin May 4th, until DDOT delayed the project amid community concerns about pedestrian and traffic safety impacts. During a May 29th walkthrough of the site, WMATA told ANC commissioners that the west entrance does not necessarily have to close for the full length of the project, but more study would be needed to determine whether intermittent closings are possible.
Also on the agenda next Tuesday: A resolution honoring the late ANC 3F02 Commissioner Karen Perry.
ANC 3F will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 16th, at Forest Hills of DC (4901 Connecticut). The meeting will be livestreamed and archived for playback at livestream.anc3f.us.
Here’s the draft agenda:

Dear Ms. Karen Perry’s family members, friends, and neighbors:
As parent and staff representatives of Hearst Elementary School we wish to express our condolences at this time and to express our warm gratitude for her long service to our local Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC), including her support of Hearst.
Ms. Perry’s service and hard work included an eye toward the progress and evolution occurring at Hearst, resulting in: a significant playground renovation, an ANC grant for a Hearst electronic-recycling event, and a grant for Hearst’s now thriving music program associated with Hearst’s new construction.
With appreciation and fond remembrance,
Jen Thomas

My friend and community ally Karen Perry worked on many projects in our ANC 3F02, Ward3 and Distrct wide projects to move our community forward. She was a friend and will be missed. She truly was committed to our Van Ness ANC community.
Her passing a few weeks ago caught me off guard. I hope that we will remember her as a real asset to ANC3FO2/ Van Ness Community.
Karen’s passing, has left her position open and I have decided to submit my petitions to run in a special election to fill her seat that will end in Dec. 2016. I will be reaching out to our Van Ness / ANC3FO2 voters and ask for there vote and support in August.
If you have any questions or you would like to volunteer to move my campaign forward please call me at 202-460-5140 or [email protected]
