At Dec. 8-10 Van Ness Pop-Up Shop: Santa Claus and locally-made treasures

Van Ness Main Street’s Made in DC Pop-Up Shop is back for two more weekends, beginning with this evening’s “Happy Hour” and with a special appearance Sunday by Santa Claus.

The vendors and the entertainment will be at 4340 Connecticut Avenue. Here’s the schedule:

Friday, December 8, 3 to 8 p.m.

Happy hour (wine/beer/non-alcoholic drinks with donation) at 4 p.m., with music by the Jack Kilby Trio.

Saturday, December 9, noon to 5 p.m.

December 10, noon to 5 p.m.

Santa Claus visits from 2 to 4 p.m.

The following weekend’s schedule:

Friday, December 15, 3 to 8 p.m. (Happy hour begins at 4 p.m.)
Saturday, December 16, noon to 5 p.m. (The Singing Capital Chorus performs 2 to 4 p.m.)
Sunday, December 17, noon to 5 p.m.

Each marketplace features a rotating assortment of local makers selling art, jewelry and accessories such as scarves and bags, fiber art and handmade clothes, home decor and packaged food.

The handmade marketplace, hosted in a University of the District of Columbia-owned space, is a collaboration of Van Ness Main Street and UDC.
