Local Halloween treats for grownups: Free donuts at Uptown Market, extended happy hour at Acacia

October 31, 2019

This neighborhood has always done Halloween right for the kids. Some local businesses also have treats – for the grownups.

Starting at 8 a.m., Uptown Market (at 4465 Connecticut Avenue) is giving a free Halloween donut to the first 100 customers who also buy a hot beverage.

Across the street at 4340 Connecticut, the Nicole Crowder Upholstery pop-up in the Van Ness Main Street storefront reopens today from noon to 6 p.m. They will have Halloween candy.

And happy hour at Acacia Food & Wine Bar starts at 4 p.m. and doesn’t stop until the bar closes. The restaurant is inviting customers to come in costume and try its Halloween-themed cocktails.

You don’t even have to say “Trick or Treat.”

Bread Furst and Little Red Fox no doubt have some Halloween-themed treats. But they are also ready to help you prepare for the next big holiday.

Little Red Fox (5035 Connecticut) is accepting your Thanksgiving turkey and pie preorders.

Bread Furst (4434 Connecticut) is offering pies and a number of side dishes. Place your preorders here.
