Take in a Harvey survivor: If you’ve been thinking about adopting a dog or cat and have been on the fence, perhaps this will help you make up your mind.
Area animal shelters need to make room for pets evacuated from the path of Hurricane Harvey. Adoption fees are waived through Sunday at the Humane Rescue Alliance (formed by the combination of The Washington Humane Society and the Washington Animal Rescue League) – thanks to a donation by National’s pitcher Max Scherzer and HRA board member Erica Scherzer.
This neighborhood loves our rescue dogs. Have you met Romeo, Ty and Patrick?
Photographers care: Washington Photo Safari, founded by neighbor David Luria, is hosting a special safari on Saturday, September 16th to raise money for the American Red Cross. WPS asks that you register here, and write a check for at least $100 to the American Red Cross. That’s where 100% of the money is going. You’ll find a detailed description of the fund-raiser and location of the photo safari here.
Cocktails for a cause: Sfoglina and other Fabio Trabocchi restaurants are donating a dollar to the American Red Cross for every cocktail sold.
Make Every Sip count. Stop by @Sfoglinadc from Aug. 31-Sept. 2 and have a cocktail. Proceeds will go toward Harvey disaster relief. pic.twitter.com/JBMxXzdzrF
