In September 2017, we introduced you to Jackie Dobranski, a neighbor who had developed Brixiples, a board game for 7- to 12-year-olds that’s designed to spark discussion about ethics, safety, common sense, and courtesy. She reports about its success:
“It was funded on Kickstarter in October, raising over $9,000. So far about 200 games have been sold and the feedback has been very positive from adults and kids alike. It is being played in homes, schools, and ethical societies. Brixiples® has been endorsed by educators, parenting class leaders, animal advocates, a diversity director and head of school, a reverend, retired police chief, and our local celebrity Dr. Neal Barnard of the Physician’s Committee for Responsible Medicine.”
What’s next in store? Dobranski is working with Stacy Smith, the chair of the Health, Values and Ethics Department at Edmund Burke School on a high school-age version.
You can buy Brixiples® through brixiples.com, on Amazon, or you can contact her at [email protected] to buy one in person.
