Murch Mustangs Dine at Tesoro

The Tesoro patio on another lovely late spring evening.

The Murch Elementary School community came out in force on Tuesday, June 3rd for the last community-family gathering before summer break. Tesoro restaurant, located at 4400 Connecticut Avenue, generously donated 20 percent of proceeds from both lunch and dinner to the Murch Home & School Association.

As Murch families dined on scrumptious Italian specialties, they got to enjoy seeing friends and know they were supporting the school. While the entire menu was available and many took advantage of the specials of the day, there was also a special Mustang Express menu available for those rushing to a soccer game or just needing to get home to put little ones to bed.

Tesoro’s outdoor patio was packed all evening with Murch families. More than 150 people came out for Murch, and the HSA made $800.

“I was thrilled to be able to support the neighborhood elementary school,” Tesoro owner Ignazio Bonanni said. “I got a kick out of seeing all the kids get excited at seeing their school friends at dinner.”

He added that many families personally thanked him for hosting the community night and that he would love to host another Murch community day at Tesoro next year. And Murch parents would surely agree that a night on Tesoro’s patio, dining al fresco with friends while supporting the school, surely beats a night in the kitchen.
