One more Ward 3 Council candidates survey: On rental housing issues

June 20, 2022 by FHC Leave a Comment

3003 Van Ness

by Harry Gural
President of the Van Ness South (3003 Van Ness) Tenants Association

There are approximately 16,000 rental apartments in Ward 3. While renters care about many of the same issues as those who own their own homes, they also have interests that are specific to renters. For this reason, five large tenant associations in Ward 3 – members of the DC Area Tenants Association Consortium – designed a questionnaire about rental housing issues for Ward 3 candidates for DC Council.

The tenant associations include:
Van Ness South Tenants Association
Sedgwick Gardens Tenant Association
Brandywine Tenant Association
Connecticut House Tenants Association
Kenmore Residents Association

Four of the remaining candidates in the race for the Ward 3 seat on the DC Council completed the survey: (alphabetically) Deirdre Brown, Beau Finley, Matt Frumin and Eric Goulet. They offered many thoughtful answers that deserve the attention of voters in Ward 3.

See Ward 3 candidates’ answers to the questionnaire on rental housing issues.

Here’s how to vote in the primary election on Tuesday, June 21st, if you haven’t done so already.

And here are voter guides from Axios, DCist, and The Washington Post.
