A pedestrian and bike trail along Military Road in Rock Creek Park and proposed improvements to the streets east and south of the Tenleytown Whole Foods are the subject of virtual public meetings tonight.

The National Park Service and DDOT are hosting the Military Road pedestrian and bike trail meeting, which starts at 6:30 p.m. They will present on a proposed connection between between Oregon Avenue and 16th Street NW, which would also connect to the existing Rock Creek Park trail network.

To join that meeting go to bit.ly/3L8fUCU.

At 7 p.m., DDOT is hosting a separate virtual meeting on the Tenleytown Multimodal Access Project. WMATA and the DC Office of Planning have studied ways to improve pedestrian, bus and bike safety and access on Albemarle Street east of Wisconsin Avenue, and along 40th Street and Fort Drive north to Chesapeake Street. DDOT is starting with recommendations from the 2016 WMATA study.

At the meeting, “DDOT staff will provide an overview of the project, a review of existing conditions, a summary of related previous studies… and information about the path forward, including ways that the community can provide input and ideas.” Meeting participants will have an opportunity to do so. People can also complete the feedback form at surveymonkey.com/r/GC5JFFB. It will be open for comments through June 10.
