Why The Power Went Out

June 12, 2014

When the power goes out, the reason isn’t always obvious. But in today’s case, it seems pretty clear.

Neighbor and FHC contributor Virginia Adams Marentette says this was on Brandywine at 28th Street: “The tree that fell had been marked for removal some time ago, but they didn’t get to it in time, obviously. They are now removing other diseased trees nearby.”

Her husband Elijah got this shot before the tree removal crew arrived.

Pepco says the outage affected 48 customers and was reported around 10:45 a.m. Virginia says power was restored by 1 p.m.
