Last weekend gave us the best of two worlds – winter’s last gasp (we hope) and a taste of springtime.
On both days, the sun was out and the temperatures soared to the 50s. But on Saturday, there was still plenty of snow left from Thursday’s storm, and plenty of families enjoying it at the Carnegie Institution sledding hill at Broad Branch and Linnean.
And if you weren’t playing in the snow, it was great to walk with a light jacket, no hood or hat, and hands free of mittens or gloves. It was even warm enough to sit outside and soak up the sun. And that’s exactly what we did. Here’s Forest Hills Connection’s Tracy Johnke and Marlene Berlin after Sunday morning tea and bialys at Bread Furst.
Long-range forecasts tell us that some colder temperatures might be heading our way. But winter’s about to loose us from its grasp. We just know it.

What a great team! The warmth of spring pales in comparison to the warmth you bring to our community!
