The Wesley Combo plays every Sunday at the Wesley United Methodist Church (5312 Connecticut) and consists of talented local musicians who also perform with other professional bands playing jazz, blues and other styles of music. This Saturday, December 13th they’re performing at a special holiday event, a program of “Jazz Christmas” music. The performance will begin at 6:30 p.m., and will end with a carol sing-along joined by members of Wesley UMC’s Rockin’ Gospel Choir.
The Wesley Combo members are Mike Wheaton on piano, Vince Stream on drums, Walter Heber on bass guitar, Eric Nelson on electric guitar, Sarah Ousley on French horn and Doc Powell on African drums. Saturday’s performance will feature Jazz soloists Tiya! and Clint Hyson, with special guest Keith Holmes on trumpet.
