Last weekend, our late-arriving fall colors finally popped. (The Washington Post says it was the best in years.)
It was a glorious time to be out walking in Rock Creek Park and the neighborhood. With a picture perfect blue sky and brilliant sun, the yellows, oranges and reds danced off the waters of Broad Branch and Rock Creeks.
This was a day to walk slowly through the woods, by our creeks and streams, and through the neighborhood, and let your eye capture the beauty that surrounds us.
If today’s rain doesn’t knock down too many leaves, this weekend’s brisk but sunny weather holds a lot of promise.
