We hope to see you this Sunday, September 23rd for a walk of the Broad Branch stream site with DDOE’s Steve Saari. Much of this Rock Creek tributary was piped and sent underground at some point in the past, and the District Department of the Environment and National Park Service will be working jointly in the coming months to restore the waterway. The process is called “daylighting.” Here is Steve’s description of what happens, and how this is a first for DC.
We’re meeting up at Nevada Avenue and 36th Street NW at 4 p.m. And if it’s raining Sunday, check this site for updates.
