It all started with Lindsay Damon’s article on the New Morning Farm Market’s brief disappearance each spring.
Our neighbors also found a hidden side to Chalin’s and some Jamaican flavor in Forest Hills.
We enjoyed dining out outdoors when the weather was more cooperative.
Neighbors shared recipes. The Maltese ambassador’s wife told us about traditional Christmas dishes in Malta. Another neighbor gave us a sweet memory of her childhood in Bosnia.
And one co-wrote an entire cookbook about China’s Cultural Revolution.
And we grew our own food, or tried, at the Melvin Hazen Community Garden.
