Two candidates for Karen Perry’s seat on ANC 3F met Monday’s deadline for turning in their nominating petitions. The challenge period runs from today through July 1st, at which point the DC Board of Elections will certify the candidates on July 2nd. Our ANC will then announce an election date and location.
The candidates are Shirley Adelstein and David Donaldson. Adelstein announced her intention to run at a May ANC 3F meeting. Read more about her here. Donaldson spoke at length at the June ANC meeting last week (here’s the Livestream), and Forest Hills Connection will publish his statement when we receive it.
Adelstein is hosting two meetings in July, one on July 7th at Walgreens, the other on July 21st at the Howard School of Law (see below). If you live in Adelstein’s district (namely, the Van Ness North, South and East buildings), these are good opportunities not only to meet her but to share your concerns and wishes for our corner of DC. The same goes if you do not live in 3F02. The ANC commissioners vote and act on issues that affect all of 3F, and their input carries great weight with DC agencies.
