Forest Hills boot camp returns to whip us into shape

September 10, 2014

Remember the former Murch kid who returned as an adult to whip this neighborhood into shape? Well, he’s back at Murch, offering early morning fitness classes at the playground.

The announcement from Brendan Herbert:

Fall Boot Camp at Murch Elementary: There is no excuse for Forest Hills residents to be unfit anymore. The DC Health Coaches are back with their early morning Fall Fitness classes on the Murch playground. Sessions are twice a week – Tuesday and Thursday – from 6:00 to 6:50 a.m.

“Brendan and David from DC Health Coaches provide just the right balance of flexibility and patience to keep us motivated while demanding us to make sure we are maximizing the benefit from the workout. The committed participants who show up week after week are seeing the benefits in increased strength, flexibility and stamina.” ~Bootcamper

We welcome more of our friends and neighbors to join us. You’ll be glad you did.

The details:

  • Every Tuesday and Thursday at 6 a.m. Boot camp is held on the Murch soccer field/playground. Boot camp will run until we deem it too cold/dark to continue.
  • Boot camp is on a drop-in basis, so you’re able to attend boot camp as your schedule allows.
  • The first session is free, after that we recommend buying a package of ten sessions, which is $200.
  • The sessions typically run for 50 minutes.
  • Sessions consist of a mix of functional strength training, yoga, pilates and aerobic exercises. We pride ourselves in creating sessions that cross-over multiple exercise backgrounds.
  • Attendees need only wear proper athletic clothing and bring water.
