We bid farewell to 2015 with a collection of stories about our wildest neighbors: The flora and fauna of the forest and even our own backyards.
Marking the seasons: See the beauty of our parks wrapped in snow and ice, the blossoms of spring, the seeds of fall… and the blossoms of winter?
Wonderful wildlife photos by David Cohen: A barred owl overcomes his shyness. Winged tigers show their stripes. New neighbors at Broad Branch Stream. Fawns pose for photos.
A creature of the night makes a rare daylight appearance: The fascinating and lovely luna moth.

Ducks unlimited: We couldn’t get enough of the Broad Branch ducks in 2014… or in 2015, as it turns out. We learned how mallards and other birds stay warm in the frigid February waters. We watched as mating pairs made an appearance. And soon they had company.
Happy New Year, everyone!
